Sony faced a lot of flak from the gaming industry after announcing it will ditch disc editions of its first-party offerings starting in 2028. Many big-name publishers are also expected to ditch discs as soon as next year, which has made a lot of gamers concerned.

However, CD Projekt Red has now officially confirmed it has no plans to leave us in the dust. The company will continue to release physical editions of its upcoming games, which will include game codes and collectibles at the very least.

Why it matters: CD Projekt Red understands the high demand for physical copies of its games, ensuring it aims to launch boxed editions, even as Sony and other publishers ditch the physical market over the years.
