- The MindsEye co-CEO has threatened a YouTuber on Discord for covering leaks regarding Leslie Benzies.
- Mark Gerhard says that the YouTuber took part in espionage, manipulation, and sabotage against Build A Rocket Boy.
- This is not the first time the co-CEO has been involved in such a controversy.
MindsEye made headlines last year after it became the worst-rated game of the year. The fact that the title’s development was surrounded by controversy did little to help the situation, and this failure even curbed IO Interactive’s enthusiasm for publishing games.
Over half a year after its release, MindsEye has found itself at the center of yet another controversy. The co-CEO of the team behind last year’s biggest flop has now threatened a Rockstar content creator on Discord.
Why it matters: MindsEye made headlines due to the involvement of Leslie Benzies in the project, who previously worked as the president of Rockstar Games. The latest incident revolves around this very individual, whom many believed was on to something with Build a Rocket Boy’s debut project.
YouTuber Cyber Boi recently discussed the ongoing leaks and situation regarding Lesli Benzies in a video, and not long after this content was posted, he received a sudden message from Mark Gerhard, the co-CEO of Build a Rocket Boy.
The co-CEO’s message served as a cease and desist for Cyber Boi, asking him to refrain from media manipulation, espionage, and sabotage of Build a Rocket Boy. This was followed by threats of further legal action in the instance that Cyber Boi failed to comply.
Perhaps the most interesting part about this incident is that Mark Gerhard reached out to Cyber Boi on Discord, of all places. Instead of issuing a copyright strike or other form of legal threat, the co-CEO resorted to the popular gaming platform to persuade the YouTuber.
This letter serves as a formal cease and desist demand. Failure to comply will result in escalated legal action.

Following this message from the MindsEye co-CEO, Cyber Boi was quick to take down his video on Leslie Benzies. However, much has been said about the former Rockstar Games president recently.
