- Escape from Tarkov developer Battlestate Games has revealed its new project.
- The new game is an FPS set in a sci-fi post-apocalyptic Mars colony.
- More details will likely come out in the near future as the game develops.
Despite Escape from Tarkov’s tumultuous 1.0 launch on Steam, the extraction shooter made a huge name for itself during its long early access period. Therefore, it’s unsurprising to see fans anticipating Battlestate developer’s new title that he has teased for a while now.
Once the countdown ended, Battlestate COO Nikita Buyanov revealed a teaser trailer for his new project, reportedly called Cor3. It is an FPS entry that takes place in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi setting on Mars.
Why it matters: Escape From Tarkov paved the way for the extraction shooter genre, so gamers are really excited to see what else Battlestate Games has in store for the industry. Although Cor3 could turn out to be set in a completely different genre.
The trailer opens with a snippet of a first-person cutscene or gameplay before the camera pans out to reveal the ruined ‘Mariner City’ on Mars. It zooms out to show a space elevator, destroyed ships, and a dead cosmonaut floating in the depths of space.
The trailer also comes with an interactive website that gives a backstory for the game. The FPS takes place in the year 2251, with humanity having faced and survived a crisis 200 years ago, thanks to the ‘Core’ organization.

Exploring the site reveals a bunch of interactable items, including a terminal and armor vests. Gamers will likely have to band together and explore the cryptic site to dig out more hidden secrets and tidbits about the game.

Cor3 is a separate franchise from Escape from Tarkov, but not many details are known about it yet. It could be years away and may launch in early access before the final release, if the extraction shooter is anything to go by.
Do you think this new project will have similar extraction shooter elements like Escape From Tarkov, or can we expect something entirely different? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.
