  • Bethesda’s Todd Howard has revealed that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still quite far from its release.
  • The director hopes fans will remain patient and avoid feeling anxious over the RPG.
  • He also confirmed that the team recently held a major play test for the title.

The Elder Scrolls 6 was first announced over seven full years ago, but Bethesda has only made a little progress on the project so far. Although the team continues to move forward with development, fans have grown restless with the lack of actual information on the title.

In a recent interview, Bethesda yet again confirmed that fans are in for a longer waiting period. The team suggests that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still a few years away.

Why it matters: The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim shook the RPG world when it originally debuted in 2011. Needless to say, expectations are high for the follow-up to one of the industry’s best RPGs.

On a more positive note, he also confirmed that Bethesda held a major play test for the title recently. The director did not say much else, but he assured fans that the team is attempting to make a great game.

According to Todd Howard, great games are at their best when they are played, and this exact philosophy is being used in the development process of The Elder Scrolls 6.

Previously, The Elder Scrolls 6 was expected to arrive at some point in 2028. However, going by the director’s latest statement, these estimates may have been a bit too generous.
