EA Aims for the Game to Reach 100 Million Players!

Story Highlight
  • Battlefield 6 beta is estimated to have attracted 20 million players across all platforms, which is 4 times more than EA’s initial estimations.
  • 70% of players were on PC while 30% were on consoles.
  • EA executives want Battlefield 6 to reach the 100 million player mark overall.

The Battlefield 6 beta is over, but fans couldn’t seem to get enough of it. The franchise is experiencing one of its highest peaks thanks to the beta, and it seems that EA might be making a comeback after all.

While we’ve seen Battlefield 6’s beta reach hundreds of thousands of concurrent players, the total number of players was unknown until now. Now, a new report reveals that Battlefield 6 beta attracted a whopping 20 million players across all platforms.

Why it matters: For a beta to reach this huge number is pretty impressive. Battlefield 6 is already a success before its full release.

Almost 500k Players Were Stuck In The Queue Waiting To Play The Battlefield 6 Beta

According to Oppenheimer Holdings, a financial services company, EA initially expected the Battlefield 6 beta to attract around 5 million players; however, the end result surpassed their expectations by a factor of four.

They also estimate that 70% of those players were on PC, while the other 30% were based on consoles.

It’s important to note that these figures from Oppenheimer Holdings are based on “comprehensive data analysis of similar games and Steam concurrent metrics.”

Almost 60% Of The Battlefield 6 Wishlists Are From CoD Players

Despite criticism from fans that Rush Mode was underwhelming and comparisons to CoD, the Battlefield 6 beta still succeeded. It also helped raise EA’s stock to an all-time high.

For the full-fledged release, EA expects Battlefield 6 to reach around 100 million players. Such a figure isn’t possible with a paid release, which is why a free BR mode is expected in 2026.

Reaching such a milestone is highly implausible, but EA executives have a history of being disconnected from the audience.
