- Naughty Dog to release book based on The Last of Us in collaboration with Dark Horse Books later this year.
- The book will allow players to relive every cinematic moment from The Last of Us games.
- Fans looking for new content within the IP can look forward to the HBO show which will go above and beyond compared to the HBO show.
The Last of Us franchise has arguably become one of the biggest under PlayStation despite receiving only two entries in the series. The franchise has spawned into other mediums like Television and is now being announced as a book too.
The Last of Us book will feature scripts from the first two video games as well as from the 2014 expansion “Left Behind.”
Why it matters: Sony has released everything there is to know about The Last of Us games. Following the book release, they’ll finally be ready to move on to other projects.
Naughty Dog is teaming up with Dark Horse Books for this release, with the book being available for sale later this year, in December. The book is said to feature a foreword written by Joel’s actor Troy Baker, an artwork gallery featuring concept art, and more.
The developer has done everything but prepare for a part 3, which likely won’t happen at all, as stated by Neil Druckmann countless times before.
However, on the flip side, this book will be a good behind-the-scenes experience for gamers who would want to see how the developers created the post-apocalyptic world.
Still, if fans are yearning for more content within the franchise, the HBO adaptation will expand beyond the source material with Season 3. Neil Druckmann has also departed from the show, so perhaps we’ll also see a continuation beyond the events of the second game.
