- Silent Hill f PC requirements point towards a very well-optimized port.
- Requires just an RTX 2080 with Ryzen 5 5500 for 1080p without any upscaling.
- This is certainly commendable, as the RTX 2080 is an almost 8-year-old GPU.
Silent Hill f is the latest game in the critically acclaimed franchise. Announced in 2022, the title got its first stunning trailer yesterday, showcasing its Japanese setting. Fortunately, it seems that the port will also be well-optimized.
Steam PC requirements show that Silent Hill f recommends an RTX 2080 paired with a Ryzen 5 5500 for native 1080p for 30 FPS on quality settings and 60 FPS with performance settings.
Why it matters: Most games these days are heavily dependent on upscaling, even for 1080p, so pushing even 30 FPS on the quality settings with an 8-year-old GPU on native settings is commendable.
According to Steam, for quality settings at 1080p native, you can push 30 FPS on Silent Hill f. We can assume that quality might be the highest available setting. For a 60 FPS experience, you’ll have to dial down the graphics.
You can even push 4K using DLSS or other upscaling technologies, which many titles can’t certainly push using the RTX 2080 these days. For context, most releases do include upscaling while revealing the PC requirements.
So, if you’re getting this good performance from RTX 2080, you’ll get even better performance with something even slightly better. Moreover, even a GTX 1070 Ti will let you play the title in minimum settings, and you can even use FSR for added performance.
Nonetheless, everything points toward Silent Hill f being a very well-optimized PC port. Unfortunately, Konami hasn’t officially revealed a release date or window for the title just yet.
