Fans Are Outraged Due To Denuvo!

Story Highlight
  • Fans have been waiting for a long time for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to release.
  • However, some of them are not as enthusiastic about knowing Denuvo will be added to the game.
  • In fact, they are canceling their pre-orders and are claiming to wait until the technology is removed.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance was a huge success, and it garnered a massive fandom that has been patiently awaiting its sequel’s release. The game, released in 2018, has sold over 6 million copies and has a pretty solid rating on Steam.

Fans were really excited about Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but some of them aren’t anymore. That is mainly because Denuvo was added to the game, and they are canceling the pre-orders

Why it matters: Denuvo significantly affects a game’s performance and ruins many gamers’ experiences. While it prevents piracy, it comes at a cost, and fans are not ready to pay that price.

KCD2 will not be available for GOG and has denuvo

After hearing the news that Denuvo would be incorporated into the game and would not be available for GOG, many fans were devastated. Some of them even claimed to cancel their pre-orders after years of anticipation, which just shows how much they hate the DRM technology

Well, that’s me cancelling. Shame was extremely excited, never preorder these days, Denuvoshit, AND launch issues, may as well fax myself the frames one by one

Some fans are hoping that Denuvo will be removed down the line because Denuvo now costs $25k a month. So spending such a massive amount and compromising the performance might not be the ideal choice here.

Fans also see this as an example of why they don’t pre-order games anymore. It is a known fact that Denuvo hurts a game’s performance, which the company doesn’t agree with. So, gamers will never welcome such technology with open arms.

denuvo is a BIG let down. This is a “buy one year after release once they remove that shit” kinda deal to me.

GoG is a DRM-free store, so that is the reason why this game isn’t being released on the platform. That has also been a mood killer for some fans. While Denuvo is bound to be removed in the near future this still is likely to hurt the game’s sales.
