According to Huang, the meeting was centered on how the US government might support the growth of data centers throughout the country, especially by implementing policies that would eventually help the US keep its lead in the global AI competition.

In response to whether Washington is doing enough to compete with China, the CEO of Nvidia said that the current administration is committed to doing as much as possible as quickly as possible.

Large data centers need a lot of energy to run, which was discussed during the meeting. The Energy Department will assist data center operators in locating clean, reliable power sources and new funding options like grants, loans, and tax credits.

According to The Financial Post, between 15% and 20% more electricity will be consumed globally over the next ten years due to increased energy consumption caused by new data centers and other causes.

It remains to be seen how well Nvidia will lead in the modernization of data centers. However, it’s important to remember that Nvidia guarantees Blackwell will outperform its current H100-class devices by 2.5–5 times and have more than double the memory and bandwidth.
