- Phantom Blade Zero is one of the most promising-looking PlayStation exclusives right now.
- Following last year’s trailer, there were concerns that the game might not live up to the hype.
- However, new footage has revealed some great combat and visuals.
Phantom Blade Zero, a PlayStation exclusive, has a lot of hype behind it, but there have been many concerns before. That is mainly because the first trailer looked way too good, and fans were concerned that the gameplay would be underwhelming.
The combat, art direction, visuals—everything looked great. However, the developer isn’t well known in the industry, so fans had their reasons to be concerned. Fortunately, the latest showcase has erased all concerns.
During Summer Game Fest, a new trailer for Phantom Blade Zero was revealed, and it looks stunning.
Why it matters: Like Stellar Blade, this could be an indie success story in the making since the project looks incredible for an unknown studio.
The new trailer shows well-polished combat focused on parries and different combo strings. The combat, as of now, looks incredibly satisfying. It might be the only game that gets close to Sekiro in terms of combat.
Both the parries and movement seem as fluid as one could ask for. The visuals and graphics appear to be top-notch, too. It looks like a real next-gen game, so fans should have their hopes high now.
Like everyone else, we weren’t expecting Phantom Blade Zero to look this good. However, we are glad that the team has shattered all expectations. It also seems Unreal Engine 5 is being put to good use here.
The trailer reveals a few normal enemies and bosses, and the showdowns with them looked epic.
Overall, the game looks promising, and more gameplay footage will be delivered soon. The developer is promising a hands-on experience at Summer Game Fest, ChinaJoy, Gamescom, and the Tokyo Game Show.
After this showing, Phantom Blade Zero has inspired a lot of confidence. The title has vastly exceeded everyone’s expectations, promising a fast, fluid, and thrilling gameplay experience for fans of martial arts and sword-based combat.
