Unreleased Intel 14th Gen CPUs Show Up In Chinese Black Market

More Intel 14th Gen CPUs Incoming!

Currently, there are three chips in the existing Intel 14th generation lineup: the Core i9-14900K, Core i7-14700K, and Core i5-14600K. That being said, Computerbase reports other un-released chips have started to show up on the Chinese black market.

This is not the first time we have seen pre-release hardware from Intel being sold online. However, this time around, both the software and hardware support from Intel are already present on the market to support these unreleased 14th-generation chips.

The unreleased Intel 14th generation chips are currently only available through a second-hand Chinese website named Goofish. This website has currently listed four new un-released chips from Intel, including Core i3-14100, Core i5-14400F, Core i5-14500, and Core i5-14500T (35W).

Intel, like other manufacturers, supplies review samples to different hardware and software reviewers. This is a necessary step before launching a product so that independent reviewers have time to judge the performance and provide feedback before launch.

This might be one of the reasons why such unreleased chips end up on the second-hand market. These unreleased chips are also qualified samples and thus would work just like retail samples or even better since they are hand-picked to show the best performance.

There is no information on when Intel is planning to launch the non-K 14th generation lineup for now. However, we might see Intel make an announcement during the upcoming special event on 14th December or in January at CES 2024 next year.
