Around 100 Hours With Side Content!

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the next major release for the franchise and the follow-up to the first remake from 2020. The developers have worked unwaveringly on the game for many years, targeting a 29 February release date next year.

Following recent interviews at Tokyo Game Show, the anticipation for the game has risen to new levels. However, Square Enix has kept up the excitement with even more information.

In a recent interview, the director revealed that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s main story would last around 40 to 50 hours.

Why it matters: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be priced at $70, so consumers will be glad to know that it offers a lot of content for the asking price.

Speaking to the BBC, the director of the game, Naoki Hamaguchi, was asked about the time required to beat the upcoming Final Fantasy game. He replied:

“You’re looking at 40 to 50 hours to complete(the main story) without doing anything else”

Final Fantasy 7 Remake offered around 30-35 hours of content in the main story. Therefore, the game is much bigger than its predecessor in terms of story content.

Similarly, the game is much bigger in other areas. Side content was a massive focus for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, with the team creating more side content than before. The director also revealed that players can spend more time in the side activities than in the main story.

Therefore, completionists can expect to spend around 100 hours in the upcoming Final Fantasy RPG.

To accommodate this much content, the game will take up 150GB of storage on PS5 and require two separate discs.

Like its predecessor, the game will expand upon the original Final Fantasy 7, possibly taking the story in a different direction to keep things fresh for old fans and deliver a modern experience for newcomers.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will arrive next year for the PS5. Unlike previous Final Fantasy games, it will only be exclusive to the console for three months, possibly heading to PC much sooner than its predecessor.
