Mix of Assassin's Creed, Ghost of Tsushima, and Dark Souls Gameplay!

Team Ninja is developing a PS5-exclusive action RPG titled Rise of the Ronin. The game was officially announced last year at State of Play, showcasing gameplay through a nearly two-minute-long trailer.

Rise of the Ronin started development seven years ago, and the game was announced to release in 2024. Following this information, a new leak reveals the game will be released in Q1 2024.

Why it matters: PlayStation already has games like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming in early 2024. This means the PS5 has at least two exclusive games coming in the first few months of next year.

In addition to the release window, the leak highlights various new gameplay elements. Team Ninja is taking inspiration from several games, mixing Ghost of Tsushima, Dark Souls, and Assassin’s Creed for Rise of the Ronin.

Like FromSoftware games, Team Ninja includes detailed descriptions for items. Players can read these descriptions to expand on the lore and history of the game universe.

Furthermore, various difficulty options and skill trees for progression and character upgrades will be included. Rise of The Ronin is also aiming for 60FPS, with the developer looking to improve the game’s visuals before release.

Additionally, the game will have numerous side-quests, which will be like the Assassin’s Creed games from Ubisoft.

The leak also reveals a few screenshots. These screenshots provide a look at the world map and skill trees. Therefore, the leak appears to be reliable.

While Rise of The Ronin is a highly ambitious title for the developer, Team Ninja is also working on another game. According to an interview, Fumihiko Yasuda from Team Ninja wanted to release a new game in 2025.
