The famous German retailer, Mindfactory, has just announced a new promotion. This promotion features the second-best Radeon option from AMD, the RX 7900 XT graphics card. This version of the Radeon RX 7900 XT from XFX is an AMD reference design with a price tag of €799.
The Radeon RX 7900 XT, compared with the more expensive GPU, features a cut-down Navi 31 XT GPU. Furthermore, the Radeon RX 7900 XT includes 5376 Stream Processors and 20 GB of GDDR6 memory running on a 320-bit interface.
Compared to the XTX model, the Radeon RX 7900 XT also consumes less power and is rated at a total board power of 315 W compared to 355W.
The new RDNA 3-based graphics card is an improvement over its last-generation counterpart. Both the Radeon RX 7900 XT and Radeon RX 7900 XTX offer a performance bump in both rasterization and ray-tracing performance. Though, the same cannot be said about its price-to-performance value.
The MSRP on the RDNA3-based cards might be the only thing holding sales back. Therefore, it should not be surprising that AMD decided to lower its price tag on the Radeon RX 7900 XT. Aside from Europe, the Radeon RX 7900 XT has also seen a price drop in the US market.
Currently, Newegg is offering a promotional discount on two variants of the Radeon RX 7900 XT. This includes the ASROCK Phantom Gaming and Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 7900 XT. They are both available for $780, with a $20 promotion code.
The Radeon RX 7900 XT is currently the best option if you are looking to invest in a graphics card under $1000. Compared to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, the Radeon RX 7900 XT offers more memory and better rasterization performance.
However, ray-tracing performance is still not up to Nvidia standards. Therefore, consumers who are not too interested in ray tracing should consider picking up the Radeon RX 7900 XT from AMD.
