Ubisoft Star Wars Game Reportedly Planned To Release Before March 2024

Star Wars Coming Soon!

Ubisoft is home to open-world games like Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and more. The developer is now utilizing this open-world experience to bring a large expansive open world to Star Wars.

The game is in development at Massive Entertainment, the team behind The Division franchise. Ubisoft has not revealed much, but a recent report states that the open-world Star Wars game is coming soon, potentially before March 2024.

Why it matters: Ubisoft aims to diversify its offerings with Star Wars. The company also has great expectations from the upcoming release.

The source claims that Ubisoft is looking to include interplanetary space travel in the Star Wars game. While flight gameplay has been done in previous Star Wars games, recent releases like the Star Wars Jedi franchise have skipped this element.

Unfortunately, the leak also hints that development on the game has not been smooth so far. While this has not been confirmed, it is not far-fetched since Ubisoft has been struggling internally with cancellations and layoffs.

Elaborating on the release date, the game is still likely to be delayed due to development issues. This would mean it will fail to meet the release window and could be pushed into 2025.

With the popularity of Star Wars, Ubisoft has an opportunity to reach a brand new audience through the upcoming title. The developer is also working on a game based on the Avatar IP in a similar attempt to branch out further from its established IPs.
