Could Lead To Books And Animation!

Elden Ring proved to be a critical success for FromSoftware, winning the Game of the Year award and selling over 20 million copies. However, this is just the beginning for the IP, as new financial results reveal long-term plans for Elden Ring.

Why it matters: FromSoftware has been known to release multiple DLCs for various games, and fans have been anticipating similar content for the latest game.

The report revealed that the company is committed to the Elden Ring IP and plans to maximize profits from the franchise by expanding it further. This expansion could also include projects such as animation and books.

The report further indicates a decline in the company’s sales and profits for the Elden Ring in the current fiscal year, 2024, mainly due to shipping expenses incurred in the last fiscal year.

FromSoftware is currently working on the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which reportedly has been in development for over a year. With games like Armored Core 6 coming up and long-term support for Elden Ring, it may be a while before the release of the DLC.

Furthermore, the financial report mentioned an increase in the company’s workforce. This could potentially lead to more expansions for the game in the future.
