Homelander And Peacemaker Could Be Guest Characters!

Mortal Kombat is among the biggest fighting game franchises, rivaling the likes of Tekken and Street Fighter. Each new Mortal Kombat game brings new characters, gameplay mechanics, and impressive visuals.

While not much is currently known about the next game, a reliable leaker has already revealed the title of the game. According to the report, the game is called Mortal Kombat 1.

Why it matters: NetherRealm Studios previously rebooted the franchise in 2011 with Mortal Kombat. Many fans had also expected a similar reboot after the conclusion of Mortal Kombat 11.

The leaker further revealed that it would come to current-gen consoles and PC. Interestingly, he also mentioned the Nintendo Switch.

This could mean that NetherRealm Studios is working on a cloud-based version of the game for the Nintendo Switch. Fans have also speculated that the leaker may have referred to the rumored next-gen Nintendo console.

Following this leak, another reliable insider, Jez Corden, revealed further details about Mortal Kombat 1. According to his sources, the game is expected to be released in September 2023.

Furthermore, he revealed potential guest characters for Mortal Kombat 1. According to the leaker, the latest Mortal Kombat game could feature guest characters like Peacemaker and Homelander.

The title could be pointing to another reset for the Mortal Kombat universe. This reset could be accompanied by a fresh new style of gameplay that has been seen in all three previous games.

With the numerous reports and recent teasers, an official Mortal Kombat 1 reveal could be right around the corner. PlayStation is reportedly gearing up for a massive showcase later this month, and it would not be surprising to see the fighting game franchise make an appearance at the event.
