Resident Evil 4 Remake Expands Player Choices

More Choice For Everyone!

Resident Evil 4 Remake is the next major horror game in 2023. With the growing anticipation after each new trailer, Capcom will soon allow players to try the game through a special demo.

As the March 24 release date draws nearer, more information about the game has been revealed. In a recent interview, Directors Kazunori Kadoi and Yasuhiro Ampo highlighted how the remake gives the players more agency.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will allow players the choice between stealth or open combat.

The Director said:

“In modern games, even regarding combat, there’s more than just fighting. You can escape, use stealth, there’s a lot of choice.”

As such, the game aims to allow room for exploration. Players are free to approach combat encounters as they like, and they can freely explore alternates.

The most optimal route will likely still exist, but the fun of finding other methods should encourage players to move out of their comfort zones. Yasuhiro Ampo further stated:

“If something doesn’t go well for you, you can try a different approach.”

Resident Evil 4 Remake changes various encounters, ensuring the enemies are not immediately aware of the player’s presence. This ties into the focus on player choice, and a new weapon emphasizes the stealthy approach.

The bolt thrower can be used to shoot without alerting other enemies. Players can use this weapon to clear numerous enemies without being spotted. Similarly, the classic approach of taking enemies head-on will still get the job done.

This player choice complements other changes, like removing QTEs from the remake. Capcom has done a great job with previous remakes for the franchise, and Resident Evil 4 Remake might be the developer’s best remake yet.
