Sony has just released its latest financial report. In addition to updates about other parts of its business, the financial report confirms an updated sales figure for the PS5 console in the first quarter of fiscal year 2023.
According to the report, the PS5 shipped 3.3 million consoles last quarter.
Why it matters: This figure means that the console has reported its best first quarter since its 2020 release, further highlighting the dominant position of the PS5 in the gaming industry.
Furthermore, the total number of shipments adds up to 41.7 million sales for the console. Compared to Q1 from last year, the console has sold an additional 0.9 million units.
