The British development and production company XDev operates under Sony’s umbrella; XDEV is the key partner working with numerous first and third-party studios to develop exclusive games for the PlayStation consoles.
Now it looks like XDev is developing a new Sony IP in collaboration with an unknown developer, as recently IconEra received exclusive insight on it, with alleged gameplay footage also being revealed.
According to the IconEra user who revealed this information, the clip is of a very early build of the game. It is an RPG sci-fi game currently under development in Unreal Engine 5 by XDev and an unidentified developer.
The gameplay clip appears from the early build of the game; it gives a similar vibe to games like Gears of War, which also have a similar appearance in their early stages.
The short six-second gameplay clip does provide us with some essential details, as it appears that the game is set in a post-apocalyptic world, the character is wearing some suit, and—not to mention the enormous figure in the distance—which gives us the vibes of an alien invasion setting.
The gameplay clip has many people comparing it to Gears of War and Mass Effect because it appears to borrow many components from both famous titles.
We are excited and looking forward to seeing more from the Sci-Fi RPG game. This is the limited information we have for now, but we will be looking for more news regarding XDEV’s new Sci-Fi RPG game in collaboration with an unknown developer.
