Story Highlight
  • Marvel’s Wolverine has been in development for nearly half a decade.
  • The developers have been quiet about the title for a while, but it appears that an official release date announcement is imminent.
  • A reliable insider has also stated that he has heard from playtesters that the title looks fantastic.

Marvel’s Wolverine has been in development for nearly five years, as the game was first shown in 2021 with a teaser gathering much anticipation from the fandom.

Ever since the Insomniac Games became the victim of a major ransomware hack in 2023, the developers have been quiet about the development of the title.

However, recent reports suggest the title may appear in the next State of Play, with a trusted industry insider claiming that playtesters describe Marvel’s Wolverine as ‘fantastic’.

Why it matters: Because the game was absent from significant events this year, like Summer Game Fest, many assumed that the title had been secretly canceled.

During the recent weekly podcast video of Insider Gaming, one of the most reliable industry insiders, Tom Henderson, discussed Marvel’s Wolverine, stating that he has heard the title looks fantastic.

From a few playtesters that I’ve been speaking to, they think that the game looks fantastic.

He also mentioned that the game could finally receive a release date within the next couple of weeks, likely to be revealed during the upcoming State of Play. Although the source is credible, it is best to take this news with a grain of salt until it gets officially confirmed.
