A new report reveals that MachineGames is now casting for Wolfenstein 3, indicating the game is in full production. Some story details have also been revealed, including the background of some in-game characters. 

Why it matters: While the studio hasn’t explicitly revealed that Wolfenstein 3 will be its next game, it did state that its intention is to always return to its popular franchise sooner or later.

MP1st came across a Wolfenstein 3 casting call that indicates that the game is now in full production. It is reportedly using the codename “Valkyrie”, and some notable figures are attached to the game’s development.

These include Performance Director Tom Keegan and Casting Director Emily Schweber. The former was involved with the studio’s last game, Indiana Jones, and the latter has been a significant part of older Wolfenstein games.

The casting is for a character called Sofia, who is described as a Ukrainian orphan between the ages of 8 and 10. The description hints at a major returning character, William, who could be the franchise’s protagonist, William B.J. Blazkowicz.

Sofia forms a bond with William and accompanies him on his travels. So, the game could follow a journey where BJ will have to act as a father figure to Sofia, aiding and taking care of her during their travels.
