Warner Bros Hints At Major Games Releases For 2027 And Beyond

Expect Hogwarts Legacy Sequel, New Batman, And More!

Story Highlight
  • Warner Bros Games has teased a return to form for 2027 and 2028.
  • The gaming giant is expected to launch the Hogwarts Legacy sequel next year, among other titles.
  • Other games in development at the studio include Rocksteady’s new Batman project, NetherRealm Studios’ next fighting game, and more.

Warner Bros Games has been mostly silent after the debacle that was 2024’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Since then, the publisher has shuttered Monolith Productions and cancelled Wonder Woman.

All of this came as a huge shock after Hogwarts Legacy’s success in 2023. As it works toward bouncing back, the publisher is now teasing major releases for 2027 and 2028.

Why it matters: WB Games owns some of entertainment’s most iconic IPs, which have also made a huge name for themselves in the gaming world.

Rocksteady Is Currently Working On A New Batman Project

In a new interview, Warner Bros Games CEO JB Perrette confirmed that the studio would offer major releases in 2027 and 2028. The CEO admitted that the team needed a reset this year and stated that it would ‘return to its biggest franchises’ in these years, but did not specify any particular names.

This statement comes following rumors of Hogwarts Legacy 2 launching in 2027. At the same time, WB Games studios like NetherRealm and Rocksteady have been busy working on new projects for quite a while.

Going by NetherRealm’s typical release cycle, a new fighting game, potentially another Mortal Kombat, could arrive by 2028. Similarly, Rocksteady’s upcoming Batman game could also show up in 2028 if things work out for the team.

The real fruits will start coming in 27-28 when we return to some of our biggest franchises.

As for what WB Games has planned for 2026, the upcoming Lego Batman is shaping up to be quite the fun superhero ride for those reminiscing about the Batman Arkham franchise.
