- A GameStop corporate employee claims they have sales data on Unknown 9 sales.
- The game reportedly recorded 0 PS5 and Xbox pre-orders across 2900 stores.
- The title also only had just below 300 max players on Steam, with mostly negative reviews.
Bandai Namco’s latest project, Unknown 9: Awakening, is in trouble. The game was recently released to below 300 concurrent players on Steam and had ‘Mostly Negative’ reviews. However, a report suggests even worse numbers on PS5 and Xbox.
Why it matters: Sweet Baby Inc. has been at the helm of the game, which, for most people, is an automatic ticket to disaster. The company has been accused of forcing woke agendas into games, leading to failures.
According to a GameStop corporate employee, they have the data on over 2900 stores. For the PS5, they had about 350 physical copies of Unknown 9 and 150 for Xbox Series consoles. However, the demand for either was 0.
Additionally, 500 online copies were available across both PS5 and Xbox Series, and they, too, had 0 sales. So, there weren’t just no pre-orders for the physical copies; the digital ones suffered a similar fate as well.
Now, considering the source is anonymous, this is a bit skeptical. Even if a game is this bad, having 0 digital sales is a bit unbelievable. However, if it is indeed true, Bandai really needs to consider the direction it is heading towards.
Unknown 9 had a lot of potential. It could’ve turned into something much bigger, but the fans argue that the wokeness in the game killed it even at launch.
This is just another instance of a game advised by Sweet Baby going downhill. Unfortunately, the trend has become rather recurring as more games suffer. Most fans say that forced inclusivity isn’t important in gaming, and it kills the art.
