This Mic Is Unbelievebly Good For Its Price…

Expert Verified By

In this price range, it's more than a steal...

Story Highlights
  • With an MSRP of $49, you’re getting nice cancellation, premium clarity sound, and an extremely appealing RGB glow.
  • The position of the input cables at the backside of the mic is pretty awkward, and the cable looks bad if you’re recording yourself.
  • The mic’s shape design is similar to the Razer Seiren V2 Pro, with the exception being that its bottom half has RGB.

When we talk about gaming mics, two things come to mind: good sound and RGB. But that comes at a price point of over $98 for the most part. But what if I tell you that you can get the same for half the price? Well, that’s the Syntech GlowMic for you.

Forget About ‘Gaming Mics’, Get This Instead

The mic is shaped much like the Razer Seiren V2 Pro, with the same capsule design, but the difference is that the Syntech GlowMic features a bottom half with a beautiful section that includes RGB lighting.

Initial Impressions

You get an attachable metallic pop filter, which looks pretty sleek. It also attaches in a clever way. Instead of having a clip like you do with a standard mic, here you get two metal hooks that fit inside the holes on the mic, where it fits nicely.

On the front of the mic, you get a solid knob without any functionality to press to mute it, which I like having in a mic. But that functionality is present at the top of the mic, where you can press to mute.

Not only can you hold that same button to activate the noise cancellation, but the blue light will turn green to indicate that this mode has been activated. Speaking of a light, there’s a huge RGB section at the bottom of the mic.

Insane RGB Glow

This design is like a hollow glass capsule where the RGB glows so seamlessly, hence the name is GlowMic. I find the RGB extremely appealing, and you can change the modes by pressing a button present at the back of the mic.

You can also cycle through various lighting modes, including a gradient colour effect with breathing, flowing, and other cool variants. When muted, the entire RGB turned to a stagnant red colour, so you know your teammates can’t hear you.

Incredible Sound Quality

Speaking of the sound itself, you get a very clear sound without much noise. The noise cancellation on this mic is exceptional, a feature often found in more expensive gaming microphones.

Since it’s a condenser mic, the further you go, the more noise it picks up from the background. But with its noise cancellation feature, you can really hear the noise drop down to almost silence just when you activate it

Another thing I like about this mic is that it doesn’t have the weird static background noise that you’d otherwise hear from other affordable mics, like the Fifine K688

Unbelievable Price Point

Now comes the best part about this mic: the insane price point. Believe it or not, but the Syntech GlowMic has an MSRP of $49. With the features it offers, its value is easily beyond $100.

Think about it, how many more “premium” gaming mics can you find in this price range that have this type of sound quality?  Absolutely none. Most of them start from around $100. There is another affordable mic that we tested, which is Comica EJoy D10 PRO, which has clarity, noise cancellation feature, and bass mode, but it still costs around $78.

What I Dislike About It

The placement of the RGB button and the input cable is awkward. To plug it, you need to put it behind, and if you’re recording a video where your audience can see the mic, they’ll also see the cables sticking out, which doesn’t look neat.

The same issue is with the RGB button, which is placed behind the mic, so if you wanna shuffle through the lighting modes or colours, you have to stick your hand far behind it to access that button, which isn’t convenient.

If they could make the button at the bottom of the mic, then it would be very feasible, but I’m being very nitpicky here, and these things may not bother most of the people who use this mic.

Verdict

All in all, you now know how insane the value the Syntech GlowMic provides without compromising on any of the premium features. Needless to say, it’s more than a steal, and you should grab it as soon as you can.
