Series S Strikes Again!

Story Highlight
  • CDPR has promised the fandom that The Witcher 4 will offer 60 FPS on consoles.
  • However, the developer has revealed that achieving this result on the Series S would be challenging.
  • The developer currently has no solution to achieve 60 FPS on this console.

Many fans are highly anticipating the release of Witcher 4 thanks to its predecessor. The Witcher 3 has managed to garner a massive fan base that is eagerly awaiting the next iteration. However, they are expecting at least a 60 FPS experience, which the developer has already promised.

While CDPR has claimed that The Witcher 4 will run at 60 FPS on consoles, it has also stated that achieving this result on the Xbox Series S will be extremely challenging, which is a concerning prospect.

Why it matters: The Xbox Series S has always been disliked by developers, with some even claiming it shouldn’t exist. Many developers have, on different occasions, expressed that the Series S is troublesome

During a recent interview with Digital Foundry, CDPR revealed some information regarding the development of its upcoming Witcher title. The developer said that it won’t make the same mistakes it did with Cyberpunk 2077, and it will do that by focusing on the console version first

While the developer wants fans to enjoy the 60 FPS experience on consoles, it stated that achieving this result on the Series S would be challenging.

I will say that 60 FPS will definitely be extremely challenging on the Series S, let’s just say that this something that we need to to figure out.

Xbox Series S One Again Becomes Troublesome For The Developers

This means that CD Projekt Red, for now, does not have any solution in mind to achieve the 60 FPS on the Xbox Series S. As of now, we are not sure how the developer will tackle this issue, but it has already guaranteed 60 FPS for the other consoles.

However, if it fails to figure out a solution for the series, they may also be delayed on the Xbox Series X. That said, there is a lot of time left until the game is released, so the developer is likely to figure something out.

What do you think about the Series S being troublesome yet again? Do you think the developer will find a way to run Witcher 4 at 60 FPS on the Xbox Series S? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section below, or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion.
