The Title Was In Development For Over A Year!

Story Highlight
  • Recently, it was reported that Respawn Entertainment had canceled a Star Wars-based FPS IP.
  • Now, the studio has canceled another unannounced project.
  • The title was in development for a year before getting scrapped.

Not too long ago, it was reported that Respawn Entertainment had canceled an FPS title based on the Star Wars IP. The game was canceled in order to support the existing franchise of the developers.

However, it appears that the developers have now scrapped another unannounced multiplayer FPS, which was in development for a year.

Why it matters: The title may have been canceled for the same reason as the developers want to support its existing franchises instead of developing a new IP.

While not much is known about the canceled project, it appears that the studio was working on a brand new multiplayer game, noticed by the recent job listing that it was in development for a year.

Fans Are Still Waiting For Titanfall 3 Announcement

Going by the post, it should also be noted that the developers who were a part of the now-canceled project have either been laid off and looking for other work or have been moved to other teams.

Nothing much is known about the next project from Respawn Entertainment, as many fans are still waiting for a new Titanfall game. However, it’s unlikely to happen anytime soon as the studio is focusing on supporting existing titles like Apex Legends.

What do you think about this? Do you think Respawn Entertainment should work on a brand new IP, or their decision to support existing franchises is valid? Let us know your thoughts in the comments or join the Tech4Gamers forum.
