- Nioh 3 has been officially revealed at State of Play 2025.
- Team Ninja promises more open level design for the title and the choice between samurai and ninja-style combat.
- The game releases next year, and a demo is now available to play on the PS5.
Team Ninja has become one of the most experienced developers when it comes to the Souls-like genre today. The studio’s original venture into the genre with Nioh has led to various titles with similar gameplay, including last year’s Rise of the Ronin.
Team Ninja last revisited Nioh with a second game in 2020, and following last year’s teaser, the team has suddenly returned with a major announcement related to the IP.
Why it matters: Successful Team Ninja titles like Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Rise of the Ronin offered a similar experience to Nioh, but neither game could capture the charm of this franchise.
Team Ninja has officially confirmed Nioh 3, promising more open level design for the third entry in the franchise.
Like the past two titles, Nioh 3 offers fast-paced combat and thrilling battles for fans of high-octane action games. This entry also offers players the choice between samurai and ninja-style combat.
Looking at the trailer, Nioh 3 seems to be taking a few notes from the new entry of Team Ninja’s other returning franchise, Ninja Gaiden. For those who enjoy both IPs, Ninja Gaiden 4 is set to launch later this year, and Nioh 3 will follow shortly in 2026.
Team Ninja has also announced a demo for the title. This demo is immediately available to play on the PS5, giving players a small taste of what to expect from Nioh 3.
