Apex Legends’ release has certainly increased Titanfall’s fan-following, giving it the recognition it never truly received. As such, fans have been demanding a threequel for years now.

However, insider Jeff Grub suggested in a podcast that developer Respawn is unlikely to work on a new Titanfall game anytime soon.

Why it matters: For such a core franchise and with huge fan demand, Titanfall deserves a new entry. Fans will disappointed to see that the developers don’t have a plan for the game anytime soon.

While discussing Respawn’s recently canceled FPS, the insider clarified that the title was not a Titanfall game. Moreover, he stated that the developers are currently working on a new title that is still in its prototype stage; however, even this new project is not a Titanfall game.

Moreover, he added that the developers are trying not to make other games and just streamline their focus on a handful of projects that would be “fewer lesser and bigger.”

Currently, Respawn is working on a big new update for Apex Legends, a new rendition of the existing game that will shake things up for the declining Battle Royale.

Aside from that, a new Star Wars Jedi game is being worked on, and the developers have also teamed up with Bit Reactor to work on a new Star Wars RTS project.

As long as Apex Legends is doing business for EA, it’s highly unlikely for Respawn to shift their focus towards a new Titanfall game since both titles take place in the same universe.
