- Leaks have hinted at Leon Kennedy’s return in Resident Evil Requiem for many months.
- Official PlayStation artwork has now confirmed that the character is indeed in the game.
- Capcom could officially reveal the character in a new trailer at The Game Awards this week.
Resident Evil Requiem brings some familiar characters back to the franchise while also introducing newcomers like Grace Ashcroft. However, rumors have suggested that one key character from past entries makes his return in next year’s Resident Evil offering.
Although Leon Kennedy’s role in Capcom’s upcoming horror title was only a rumor until recently, a new leak has now confirmed that the character will indeed make his grand return to the series soon.
Why it matters: Leon Kennedy is among the IP’s most popular protagonists, thanks to his role in Resident Evil 4. Moreover, the recently released Resident Evil 4 Remake has introduced the character to a brand new audience.

Previously, leaker Dusk Golem claimed Capcom kept Leon Kennedy’s role in Resident Evil Requiem a secret.
The latest leak proves that the leaker was right all along, and it comes from the PlayStation Store itself. PlayStation seems to have leaked an updated version of the game’s cover art, which features an older, more battle-hardened Leon.
This leak has also been verified by multiple PlayStation gamers and media outlets. Capcom could make an official announcement at The Game Awards later this week, but the cat is finally out of the bag for now. However, just how big a role Leon plays in the game and its story is still anybody’s guess for now.

Given the fact that Leon is featured on the cover art, it may be safe to assume that he will not be limited to a small cameo. Still, it will be interesting to see how Capcom integrates one of its most iconic protagonists into its latest Resident Evil entry.
