Rumors Of The Inevitable God of War Sequel In Egypt Already Exist!

Story Highlight
  • The Kratos actor has shown his interest in Egypt as the next God of War game setting.
  • Chris Judge says it’ll be a full-circle moment for him based on his role as Teal’c.
  • The next installment is already rumored to have an ancient Egyptian setting.

Rumors of a new God of War game have been circulating through the industry for the last few months. There are reportedly a couple of different games in development, one being a Metroidvania and the other the next mainline installment.

Amid rumors that the mainline entry will head to Egypt, Kratos’ actor has also shown his interest in the setting. However, he has also stated that he doesn’t really know anything yet, so it’s just him wishing out loud.

Why it matters: The Egyptian setting would be really interesting as it has some rich mythology and will be very different from the Norse ones, which we grew accustomed to with the last 2 releases.

God of War Egypt
Chris Judge wants the next God of War to head over to Egypt.

Talking at a recent London Comic Con event (via Gamesradar), Kratos actor Christopher Judge was asked about the inevitable God of War sequel. He showed interest in the idea of the franchise going to Egypt for the next game.

Because I became best known as Teal’c from Stargate, to go to Egypt would be a completion of my circle

The setting will be totally different from the last two games’ Norse setting

Judge said going to Egypt as Kratos will be a full circle moment for him, referring to his role as Teal’c of Chulak in 1987’s TV Show, Stargate. But he said that he doesn’t know anything about a third game yet, so it’s better to wait.

However, whatever setting they choose for it will be great. Also, the recent report of the Egyptian setting came from a very reliable reporter, so this all but confirms that this is where we’re heading with the next God of War game.
