Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has had a lot of hype behind it. The game is set to release tomorrow, but many fans have been waiting for reviews to drop so they could finally make up their mind about buying this game.

Nowadays, a lot of people wait for reviews before pre-ordering, and some even wait for reviews from gamers who spend their money on the game. That said, KCD2 reviews are finally out, and it has managed to obtain an average score of 87 on Metacritic.

Why it matters: while the first title in the series didn’t have a really high score on Metacritic, it was well-received by the fandom. So, it is good to see the sequel surpassing the former’s hype and glory.

As you can see in the image above, the game has received an average score of 87 from 45 critic reviews, while its prequel received only 76. Most of the reviews highlight how the game has evolved from its prequel.

Many of the reviewers have given it straight up a 100 score because it is an improvement over its prequel in every way possible. That is the type of sequel the fandom longs for, and it seems like the Warhorse Studio has delivered.

Wow. Just… Wow. That was my feeling when I hit the credits roll after just over 150 hours. I really lost myself in the game world at times. More so than any other game I’ve played in many years, I found myself committed to finally seeing to the main objective the first game left unfinished.

Other than that, the story, sidequests, and especially the hand-to-hand combat have received enormous praise from the reviewers, and rightfully so. Many have highlighted that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has provided them with a fantastic medieval RPG experience with a world that offers countless activities.

While the majority has praised the game, some have highlighted its negative aspects. One reviewer mentions that they “constantly found it to be a miserable slog to engage with.”

Regardless, the majority’s experience has been positive. What do you think about the reviews so far? Are you excited for the game? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion.
