Despite Recent Silence, PlayStation Update Confirms Judas is Alive And Well

Still No Confirmed Release Window Though!

Story Highlight
  • After many months of radio silence, an update confirms Judas is still in development.
  • It still doesn’t have a release window, but that could change soon at TGA 2025.
  • The title was originally announced in 2022, with a release date of March 2025.

Judas is the next game from BioShock creator Ken Levine, being developed by Ghost Story Games. It takes heavy inspiration from Bioshock, and fans were really hyped when it was first announced back at TGA 2022.

Since then, we’ve had plenty of information on the title; however, the recent few months have been rather quiet, with a release date still not in sight. Some fans were worried, but a PlayStation post has confirmed Judas is alive and well.

Why it matters: When Judas was announced, we didn’t know if there would be another BioShock game or not. Additionally, the involvement of Ken Levine was a significant motivating factor for loyal fans of the franchise.

Judas by Ken Levine is alive and still in development

In a recent PlayStation update, Levine shared updates on Judas. He went into detail about the development and the protagonist. Although they still haven’t revealed a release date, fans will be relieved to hear more about the game.

The last we heard about Judas was 6-7 months ago, when it was revealed that it’s a strictly single-player game with no live service elements. The developers have also emphasized how the game will have instant reactions.

So, if a player takes any action in the game, there will be instant reactions, instead of other games where small steps lead to bigger events later down the line. This makes the game different from BioShock.

It was originally set to be released in 2025, but was delayed, and is now expected in 2026, making it a solid lineup for Take-Two. With The Game Awards 2025 less than a week away, we might learn the release date soon.
