Previously, reports suggested a 2026 launch for the Nova Lake-S processors, but unfortunately, it seems we’ll have to wait a little while before getting our hands on Intel’s next-generation processors.
Insider Golden Ping Upgrade Pack believes that Nova Lake-S will ship in 2027. If this is true, it would put these processors head-to-head with AMD’s Zen 6 CPU launch, which is also happening next year.
While Nova Lake as an architecture could launch this year, it may not be available until 2027, because, unlike AMD, Intel is following two independent routes with its designs, splitting server and client into two distinct roadmaps and architectures. To quote the leaker directly:
Okay, Nova Lake S will also be released in 2027 , everyone’s in a hurry to get to CES .
The information presented here is relevant. It specifies the “S” model, which denotes a desktop with an LGA1954 socket, and references a launch rather than a demonstration, which will take place during CES next year. This tells us that there is no leaked information, only sheer guesswork.
According to rumors, Intel may release the Core Ultra Series 4, notably the Core Ultra 400S, later this year as planned to match its internal roadmap for partners and investors. Most likely, these processors may be unveiled at the next CES.
The alternative theory is similarly quite simple to understand. Intel could debut its Nova Lake-S CPUs for the K series in 2026, with only a short time between presentation and launch. In other words, it would present and launch gaming models this year, outperforming AMD and setting new game performance records, but save the major event for CES 2027.
The biggest attraction is the mobile sector, which includes laptops and portable consoles. In addition, they may release versions for gaming CPUs built on bLLC, i.e., with their huge in-die L3 cache.
We don’t know what the leak is referring to in this context, whether it’s the delay of all Nova Lake series processors until 2027, or if Intel would revise its internal plan with a presentation followed by a launch, as they did with Panther Lake.
In any event, with March approaching and no Arrow Lake-S Refresh in sight, it appears to lead to a 2026 presentation and a spectacular launch in 2027. If this is the truth, will they debut the Core Ultra 400S bLLC processors right away, or will we have to wait a few months? This may be highly dependent on what AMD does on the same occasion.
