Helldivers 2 was released last year as PlayStation’s most successful live-service title, and thanks to the developers’ recent updates, the title remains strong in 2025.
Finally, the developers have recently confirmed that Helldivers 2 will be released on Xbox Series S|X later this August. While many fans were wondering whether the title would be available on Xbox Game Pass, Arrowhead’s community manager has confirmed it won’t be.
Why it matters: Of course, Arrowhead Games would want players to fully purchase the game if they want to enjoy it since the game has already seen tremendous success and is worth the money.
Since many third-party games are often released on Xbox Game Pass, fans were eagerly awaiting the arrival of Helldivers 2 on the subscription service.
In response to a message suggesting that Helldivers 2 would be released on Xbox Game Pass, Arrowhead’s community manager clarified that it definitely will not.

While this may disappoint some Xbox fans, at least the title isn’t a fully priced premium release, and players can still purchase the standard edition for £34.99, which is a worthwhile investment considering the title’s massive success over the last year.
Recently, Xbox also released Sea of Thieves on PlayStation, but it wasn’t included in the PlayStation Plus subscription. The title did incredibly well on the PlayStation, regardless.
