  • Segotep collaborates with GPU manufacturers and is rumored to be working on the MEOW-themed RTX 50 series.

A relatively new player in the industry, Segotep is a Chinese manufacturer of power supplies. While many do not know about this particular brand, the manufacturer is quite often seen on Chinese social media.

Why it matters: Rumors like the dual 16 pin connectors for the upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 has led many users to reevaluate their power supply requirements.

Many users on Bilibili wanted to ask whether the RTX 5090, which purportedly includes two 16-pin power connectors, was a cause for concern. These rumors have not been confirmed yet.

Still, misleading rumors like these have caused some consumers to reevaluate the power supply they intend to buy. Remember that twin 16-pin (12V-2×6) specifications are uncommon in current power supplies.

Segoep said they have already seen the specs and shouldn’t worry about the GeForce RTX 5090’s power requirements. In addition, Segotep was also advised to wait until January. This brief note indicates that the RTX 5090 is planned to ship in January and does not have two 16-pin connectors.

Furthermore, Segotep has a reputation for collaborating with GPU manufacturers like Colorful with a MEOW theme. The company is rumored to work on next-generation systems, potentially even the MEOW RTX 50 series.

With its brief statement, Segotep seems to advise against upgrading your power supply to accommodate two 16-pin connectors. However, adapters would remain a viable choice in the event that it becomes mandatory.
