- Forza Horizon 6 has been officially revealed at the Xbox Tokyo Game Show, with the series headed for Japan for the first time.
- The game is set for a 2026 release, and a PS5 version will be available for the game sometime after the initial launch for Xbox and PC.
- 2026 is shaping up to be a stellar year for Xbox, with all of its flagship franchises set to receive new entries.
Microsoft still has a lot to show for this year, and at the Xbox Tokyo Game Show, they officially revealed a brand-new trailer for Forza Horizon 6. Confirming previous reports, the series is headed to Japan for the first time and is slated for a 2026 release.
Why it matters: Forza Horizon is the biggest racing franchise at the moment and one of the last few standing ones. Therefore, fans will be excited to see the series return after a 4-year hiatus.
A short teaser for Forza Horizon 6 showcased a garage before shifting to a lush, scenic mountain landscape in Japan.
Fans have highly requested a Japanese setting since the release of the first Forza Horizon game. It took Microsoft 13 years to fulfill their request, but better late than never.
Forza Horizon 6 will also be a cross-platform release, meaning it will be available for Xbox, PC, and even PS5. However, the PS5 version will be released sometime after launch, making it a timely exclusive for Xbox and PC.
As part of their multiplatform push, Microsoft released Forza Horizon 5 for PS5 earlier this year.
On PS5, the gaming giant saw unprecedented levels of success. The 4-year title outsold numerous new releases, such as Death Stranding, by a 4:1 ratio and made $100 million in just under two months.
For 2026, Xbox has a strong lineup, and all of its blockbuster franchises, such as Forza Horizon, Gears of War, and Halo, will see new releases.
