- A recent interview by Todd Howard teases multiple Fallout projects.
- One of these projects appears to be Fallout 3 Remastered.
- The remaster is said to be similar in scope and scale to The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered, which was more than a basic re-release.
Fans of the Fallout series have been starved for new gaming content. Besides Fallout 76, the series has yet to receive much attention in the gaming sphere lately, but that seems to be changing quite rapidly.
According to Bethesda, a major remaster of Fallout 3 is currently being worked on.
Why it matters: This is not the first time discussions regarding a remaster of Fallout 3 have shown up. In fact, the remaster has been rumored for quite some time, so fans are quite happy with the latest report.

According to VGC, Todd Howard himself has hinted at a Fallout 3 remaster. It is said that this remaster will follow the same philosophy as The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered, making it more interesting than the average remaster.
For context, much of Oblivion was built from the ground up for the Unreal Engine 5-based remaster. Therefore, fans can expect similar treatment for Fallout 3, creating excitement within the fandom.
As per Todd Howard, Bethesda has hundreds of people working on the Fallout IP currently. This also includes Fallout 76, which continues to show strong results several years into its lifespan.
We have hundreds of people on Fallout right now, with 76 and some other things (Fallout 3 Remastered) we’re doing.
-Todd Howard

Elsewhere, Todd Howard discussed plans for The Elder Scrolls 6. At present, Bethesda hopes to wrap up development of the next Elder Scrolls title and transition to work on Fallout 5.
Of course, this will require several years of active development, so fans should stay tuned for Fallout 3 Remastered for now.
