'We Never Intended For All These Awards'

Story Highlight
  • The Expedition 33 team is still in disbelief that they’ve equalled Baldur’s Gate 3’s awards.
  • Both titles won 7 awards at the Golden Joystick Awards.
  • The actors involved in the game praise the studio and the love they put into the game.

Sandfall Interactive is just fresh from multiple award wins at the Golden Joystick Awards 2025, including the Ultimate GOTY for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and the team is still in awe. They’ve also managed to equal Baldur’s Gate 3’s wins at the venue.

Expedition 33 team stated that all this is ‘quite surreal’ as they never expected all those awards, and as the game equals the highly successful Baldur’s Gate 3′s record. They just made a game they liked and thought fans would too.

Why it matters: Expedition 33 bagged 7 awards at the Golden Joystick, winning in every category it was nominated in, and equalling the number of awards Larian’s critically acclaimed RPG won.
