It’s already become clear that Arc Raiders has been an astounding success. The innovative shooter has proven to be a strong competitor against established series like Battlefield and Call of Duty. However, it has done much more for Embark than the numbers suggested.

The studio CEO claims that Embark is already cooking up two new games thanks to the money generated by Arc Raiders so far.

Why it matters: Arc Raiders’ success is allowing Embark to expand and focus on new projects amid an industry that is otherwise struggling with layoffs and studio closures. Therefore, we may see more ambitious games from the developers in the future.

In an interview with IGN, Embark CEO Patrick Soderlund explains that the studio is expanding and hiring more talent to focus on The Finals and Arc Raiders in the future. Additionally, more projects can continue development because of the latter’s success.

For those not in the know, Arc Raiders continues to see about 300K players on Steam three months after launch. In comparison, Battlefield 6 has lost 80% of its players, while Highguard’s player base collapsed after just two days. 

We’re growing our studio, we’re hiring people, we want to build more of ARC Raiders, we want to build more of The Finals. We also have two new games in development that we hope to finish someday.

Patrick confirms that Embark will ‘live for a long time on the money that Arc Raiders has been generating,’ which is allowing the studio to grow instead of having to worry about shedding talent.

An analyst revealed that Arc Raiders supposedly consumed about a $75 million budget, which the CEO also confirms is quite close to the real number. 

Additionally, Embark is also focused on offering competitive salaries and generous bonuses to the developers who made it possible for Arc Raiders to achieve such success.
