The Dying Light series has had a successful legacy in the gaming space, something that many once-popular IPs now cannot boast about. While there were a lot of hurdles in Dying Light 2’s release, Techland eventually bounced back and redeemed the sequel with subsequent updates.
Now, the studio is celebrating Dying Light’s 10th-year anniversary as the series has climbed to new heights that no one expected. The Dying Light franchise now boasts over 45 million players.
Why it matters: The Dying Light series is performing well, despite the latest game being criticized. A new title, Dying Light: The Beast is currently in development, and fans are very excited about it.
Techland is now celebrating the occasion with fans by announcing a new roadmap for the Dying Light franchise, confirming that there’s a lot to come starting in the summer of 2025. However, Dying Light: The Beast isn’t the only spotlight on the roadmap.
The past two releases are also getting a motley of new updates. Dying Light 2 will see permanent tower raids, new characters, firearms, a new weapon class, co-op gameplay and matchmaking, community map support, and much more.
On the flip side, the first Dying Light game is set to get visual tweaks across various areas to enhance the already nostalgia-inducing gameplay. However, an exact release date for this update is still up in the air.
Moreover, Dying Light: The Beast is shaping up to be Techland’s next ambitious project amid multiple in-development projects, hitting the digital stores this summer. It is on the shorter side with only 18 hours of campaign, as devs believe shorter games are the future.
On this massive occasion, we’re also conducting an Ask Me Anything session with the Dying Light 2 developer team. So, we need you to drop the questions you’ve always wanted to ask on the Tech4Gamers thread.
