Dragon’s Dogma 2 Development Is Progressing Well

Dragon's Dogma 2 Sounds Promising!

Dragon’s Dogma has earned a reputation for being an underrated gem from 2012. While the game did not find success like the Elder Scrolls and Witcher games, it has garnered a dedicated fan base over the last decade.

A sequel for the game has already been announced and Director Hideaki Itsuno is returning for Dragon’s Dogma 2. In a recent tweet, the Director stated that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is progressing well and fans should stay tuned for more news.

Despite the hype around Dragon’s Dogma 2, very little is known about the project. The game was officially announced earlier this year on June 17, 2022, during a live stream that celebrated Dragon’s Dogma’s 10th anniversary.

Additionally, The game will utilize Capcom’s RE engine. Director Hideaki Itsuno has used the same engine for his latest release: Devil May Cry 5, and recent Resident Evil games have also showcased the prowess of the engine.

Dragon’s Dogma impressed audiences with its open world and sense of freedom. The game combined this freedom with unique encounters and large-scale boss battles to make for a memorable experience.

However, the game was far from perfect. It lacked the polish and attention to detail that fans have come to expect from modern releases like The Witcher 3. Therefore, Capcom has the opportunity to make vast improvements with the sequel.

A release date for Dragon’s Dogma 2 has not been announced so far. While the game might be ready to release in 2023, fans might find themselves waiting well into 2024 to finally give the game a shot.

Going by Hideaki Itsuno’s tweet, fans can expect gameplay reveals and additional details in 2023. Recent rumors have hinted at an Xbox event in early 2023, and Capcom could use this opportunity to showcase Dragon’s Dogma 2 for the first time.

However, it would be wise to keep expectations in check before any official announcements are made. Are you excited about Dragon’s Dogma 2? Did you play the original game? Feel free to discuss the game in the comments below.
