- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has missed out on a Grammy nomination for best soundtrack.
- Instead, the nominees include tracks from Star Wars Outlaws, Helldivers 2, and more.
- Fans have argued that Expedition 33 has some of the best in gaming.
Good sound design and music are two of the core elements of a video game. They add to the immersion and experience, and one of the best games we’ve seen so far, nails these elements, is the recent Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
So, to everyone’s surprise, the Grammys just revealed the nominees for the ‘Best Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media’, and Expedition 33 couldn’t make the list, whereas Star Wars Outlaws did.
Why it matters: Fans have shown their huge love for the game’s soundtracks ever since it came out. They are also central to the game, elevating the whole experience, so it seems weird that it didn’t even get a nomination.

The Recording Academy just released a full list of Grammy 2025 nominees, and the video game category includes tracks from Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Helldiver 2, Star Wars Outlaws, Indiana Jones, and Sword of the Sea.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a notable miss here, which had outstanding soundtracks like Flying Water, Lumière, Until You’re Gone, Une vie à t’aimer, and more, which have received highly positive remarks from the audiences.

The Grammys are more American mainstream awards, and a game purely of French origin would’ve found it difficult to be there. Fans have a similar fear for The Game Awards, where currently Expedition 33 is the top contender.
