In An Era Of Layoffs, CDPR Is Going The Opposite Way With A Massive Hiring Spree!

Story Highlight
  • CDPR has nearly 100 openings across titles like Witcher games, Cyberpunk 2, and Project Hadar.
  • All of the studio’s projects are now reaching late stages of development, requiring more manpower.
  • Employee count is likely around 1000 for CDPR now.

CD Projekt Red continues to strengthen its pool in preparation for its upcoming slate of several ambitious AAA titles. Now in the late stages of development for these projects, the studio is moving at breakneck speed, going on a massive hiring spree to complete these titles.

In fact, CDPR now has openings for around 100 jobs across projects like Witcher games, Cyberpunk 2, and Project Hadar.

Why it matters: The gaming industry is in its most unstable state ever, with layoffs across all major studios under giants like Xbox, PlayStation, EA, and Ubisoft. In the current scenario, seeing CDPR go in the opposite direction solidifies the studio’s position as a leader in the gaming space.

Pawel Sasko, Associate Game Director of Cyberpunk 2, shared a link to openings at CDPR, stating that there are jobs across all of the studio’s upcoming projects, including Witcher 4, Project Sirius, Project Hadar, and, of course, Cyberpunk 2.

Witcher 4 is the studio’s next title and will kick off a new trilogy, with Ciri being the series’ next protagonist. The game is expected to launch in the latter half of 2027.

Project Sirius is the spin-off multiplayer Witcher project, initially led by The Molasses Flood, which was absorbed by CDPR last year and is expected to be released after Witcher 4.

As for Project Hadar, it is a new original IP by CDPR and was first uncovered by Tech4Gamers through a job listing. From what we know so far, it’s an action RPG that involves melee combat and is still in its early stages of development.

Lastly, Cyberpunk 2 is scheduled for 2030, the same year Cyberpunk 2077 has its 10th anniversary. The Cyberpunk sequel has a lot of talented talent under its helm, including a writer from Bioshock and a gameplay programmer from Insomniac Games.

As of mid-2025, CDPR consisted of 730 employees. The latter half of last year also saw a bunch of new faces at the studio, and by the time the current positions are filled, the employee count will likely rise to around 1000.
