The Witcher has been one of the most successful franchises for CDPR, and following the success of The Witcher 3, the latest addition to the franchise has very big shoes to fill.

To keep the excitement going, the developers have been updating fans on the RPG’s progress since last year, as it was reported that the team would start working on The Witcher 4 in 2024 with around 400 developers.

Currently, 65% of all the developers are focused on this RPG, and CDPR is nearly done with preproduction.

CD Projekt RED has released its latest earnings report for the first half of 2024, where the team has also given the investors an update on the projects they are working on.

When talking about The Witcher 4, codenamed Polaris, Michał Nowakowski, Joint CEO of CDPR, stated that the team is nearing a major milestone, the end of the preproduction phase.

It has been stated that 2024 has been busy for CDPR since the team has worked on two major RPGs simultaneously, including the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. The developer hopes to enter the planning phase for this sequel soon.

Ultimately, this is a great time to be a Witcher fan. The next entry will require a few more years before it is ready, but CDPR is expected to deliver stunning results using Unreal Engine 5. Therefore, expectations are quite high for this release.
