- Battlefield 6 is finally coming out on October 10, 2025.
- The title is doubling down on gritty realism.
- The team has recently jabbed at the Call of Duty franchise, stating that the title doesn’t need Nicki Minaj skins.
Battlefield 6 finally received its multiplayer gameplay trailer yesterday, with a lot more information about the title. Following the reveal, the title has already become the best-selling and most wishlisted game on Steam.
As the Battlefield franchise is known for proper destruction and the latest entry is taking direct inspiration from Battlefield 3 and 4, the developers take a jab at the COD franchise, stating that they are aiming for gritty realism and Battlefield 6 doesn’t need Nicki Minaj skins.
Why it matters: Recently, the developers have also stated that they won’t be adding any cartoon skins in the title as they focus on a core military theme.
During a recent interview with DBLTAP, Shashank Uchil, design director of Battlefield 6, discussed several topics, including the title staying grounded and not needing Nicki Minaj skins.
I don’t think it needs Nicki Minaj. Let’s keep it real, keep it grounded.

In another interview with Video Gamer, the UX director of the game, Alan Pimm, has further discussed the character appearances, stating that the title is all about gritty realism.
At the moment, that package is the ‘gritty realism’ and that we listen. That I cantell you.
It appears that the developers are doubling down on the gritty realism and really looking to return to its roots of destruction. While the team didn’t really say no to the skins, it’s likely they won’t be adding celebrity or cartoonish skins to Battlefield 6.
