AMD Shows Dominance Yet Again!

Story Highlight
  • A new analysis has revealed that Battlefield 6 runs way better on Ryzen 7 9800X3D than Intel i-9 14900K.
  • The difference is quite massive, as when paired with RTX 5080, Ryzen performed 33% better.
  • This is because the X3D chips are optimized better for gaming.

AMD has been dominating Intel for quite a long time now. The former’s CPUs have no competition in the market, and they are just getting better and better each year. In fact, Intel has admitted by claiming that it can’t catch up to its competition.

From the looks of it, it seems like Intel is just hanging by a thread, as another example of why AMD is superior has appeared online. The 9800X3D on Battlefield paired with an RTX 5080 performs 33% better than Intel’s i9-14900K.

Why it matters: AMD offers CPUs that are best for gaming, and that is a fact. The X3D chips are way better optimized for gaming than the ones Intel has developed.

Streamer Reveals Ryzen Is Better Than Intel
A Twitch Streamer Reveals Ryzen 7 9800X3D Is Better Than Intel i9-14900K To Play Battlefield 6.

A streamer who has played the game early has revealed that thanks to the X3D chip in the 7 9800X3D, the performance is crisp. Bruhskey was a part of the team that was given the courtesy of playing Battlefield 6 during the multiplayer gameplay reveal event, so his words have weight.

He reveals on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he was easily getting over 300 FPS using 7 9800X3D and RTX 4080 at 1440P native. Then, in the thread, he reveals a friend of his was using an i9-14900K but got less than 110 FPS than he did with the same settings.

Friend of mine with same gpu but 14900k got 110 less fps than me while matching settings. Seems like x3d will matter A LOT. Did not have replay buffer or use NDI for game pc transmission. Only EA app and the game were open. 1440p native.

That is a whopping 33% difference. As Brushskey was getting 330 FPS, his friend would be getting around 220, making a difference of 33%.

Another user reported in the comments section that TooMuchCyanide was using a 4080 Super paired with a 14900K at 1440P low settings and was getting FPS around 120-180. This shows that X3D matters a lot when it comes to gaming and AMD is the better option.

It is worth noting that Battlefield 6 is pretty well optimised as it will run at 60 FPS on all consoles, even on the Xbox Series S. However, the FPS can be increased with the VRR.
