Dice Says New Anti Cheat Has Banned Over 300K Cheaters!

Story Highlight
  • Cheaters were found in the Battlefield 6 beta on day one.
  • Fans were unhappy about this incident, despite the use of Secure Boot for Javelin anti-cheat.
  • Dice says the anti-cheat has already banned 300K cheaters.

Battlefield 6 has been in beta for over two days now, and things have been going well. After a few initial troubles with the servers, players have had a lot of fun with the game, but the cracks in Battlefield 6 are also beginning to show.

Ahead of the beta’s release, the game boasted the all-new Javelin anti-cheat to prevent all types of problems. However, the latest reports confirm that cheaters have made their way into the beta, leading to questions about the game’s anti-cheat.

Why it matters: Cheating has become a major problem in modern online games, and developers are trying their best to overcome the issue.

Over on Twitter, ItsHapa shared footage of a cheater running rampant in Battlefield 6 on day one of the beta. This footage was shocking since many believed Dice’s efforts would lead to a very fair gaming experience.

The video also led to many gamers questioning the new ‘Secure Boot’ requirement for the Javelin anti-cheat. For the unaware, Battlefield 6 does not work without this setting enabled, and turning on ‘Secure Boot’ is tricky in itself.

Some have even bricked their motherboards due to being uninformed on the matter. Because the Javelin anti-cheat’s results have been seemingly underwhelming, the community does not seem too happy.

Fortunately, Dice producer Alexia Christofi confirmed that this particular cheater had been banned soon after the footage was shared.

In a follow-up post on the EA Forums, Dice also confirmed that Javelin has already banned over 300K cheating attempts. Moreover, over 100K cheating attempts have been reported by the players themselves.

In the same post, Dice explained that Secure Boot does not guarantee a cheat-free experience, but it acts as yet another layer to stop malicious players. Using Secure Boot, the developers can trust specific signals that wouldn’t usually be indicative of hacks or cheats.

Battlefield 6 Is Already Huge

Overall, the Battlefield 6 beta has been going well. Many players are appreciating the series’ return to form, but others have also critiqued specific choices, including the lack of huge maps in the current rotation. Additionally, the game’s optimization has raised a few eyebrows.

What do you think about the game so far? Have you run into any cheaters? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.
