Battlefield 6 Supports 60FPS+ On Performance Mode For Xbox Series And PS5 Consoles

Devs Ensured Equal Optimization and Visual Quality!

Story Highlight
  • Battlefield 6 supports 60FPS across all consoles, with performance mode even exceeding those framerates.
  • It’s pretty surprising for Xbox Series S to be included in the target framerates, given how weak the developers believe the console to be.
  • Overall, the developers aimed to optimise the game equally while making it visually stunning.

With such flashy visuals and destruction, fans have been speculating about Battlefield 6’s performance, also considering how past entries have been severely unoptimised at release.

Battlefield 6 will be an exception, however. According to a developer working on the game, the game is guaranteed to feature 60FPS across all consoles and can even exceed 60FPS in performance mode

Why it matters: Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be one of the most visually stunning releases ever. It’s unusual and surprising for EA to put in equal amounts of effort optimising the release for it to support more than 60FPS on consoles.

Talking to Tech & Co, Battlefield Studio’s principal game designer, Florian Le Bihan, said that optimisation has been the biggest priority for the studio while working on Battlefield 6.

Uh, we want to make sure that it’s not just a game that’s graphically super beautiful, but it’s also a game that runs on all configurations

The most surprising revelation was that the developer confirmed 60+FPS across all consoles, even the Xbox Series S. The budget console has been notorious among studios, with some claiming that it holds back development

Previous reports also revealed that the PS5 Pro was able to output around 120FPS while running Battlefield 6. The game was running with VRR enabled, and the framerate was quite variable, suggesting it was likely running in performance mode.

EA Thought Battlefield 6 Had A Chance To Go Against GTA 6

Overall, Battlefield 6 is looking to be the most ambitious entry in the series, with EA finally giving fans what they wanted, especially considering how the franchise was at its lowest point after the disastrous launch of Battlefield 2042

EA considers Battlefield 6 a direct successor to the series’ pinnacle, offering a proper, grounded military experience. The publisher is quite confident in their work, to the point where they want the game to reach 100 million players
