BattleBit Remastered Hits Over 87K Peak Concurrent Steam Players

Nearly 2 Million Copies Sold Already!

FPS gaming is a very popular genre for gamers worldwide, and multiplayer games like Apex Legends, Valorant, and Destiny 2 have enjoyed great popularity in the genre. In addition to these games, BattleBit Remastered appears to have taken the genre by storm.

Following its release in June, the game has sold over 1.8 million copies in 14 days. Furthermore, it has also reached over 87K peak concurrent players on Steam.

Why it matters: The FPS market is already saturated with various AAA games for each gameplay style. Therefore, any new IP’s success can be considered a big deal due to the competition.

The game can be found on Steam for the price of $15. This low price is likely one of the primary reasons for its popularity.

BattleBit Remastered has thousands of great reviews on Steam, with over 90% being positive. Unlike most other FPS games, players will find that BattleBit Remastered does not come with any microtransactions.

Much like the Battlefield franchise, the new FPS title focuses on large-scale battles. Each match features a total of 254 players, making it even bigger than the recent 128-player mode from Battlefield 2042.

The recent concurrent count record also means that BattleBit Remastered has pulled ahead of popular releases like Battlefield 1, and it is just a few thousand players short of the peak concurrent player record for Battlefield 5.

The game features visuals like Roblox, with low-resolution textures and blocky soldiers. Like the Battlefield franchise, it also features destructible environments and vehicles. All of this means that thousands of Battlefield fans are enjoying the game.

BattleBit Remastered’s success highlights that indie games are full of creativity and unique experiences. The game was created by just four people, yet its current popularity rivals major AAA FPS games.
